World's Greatest Shave

The World’s Greatest Shave is one of Australia’s most inspiring fundraising events — bringing people together to help beat blood cancer. Every year, thousands of Australians shave, colour, or cut their hair to raise life-changing funds for those affected by leukaemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.

In 2023, Max Shaver became the cheeky “chin character” leading the campaign — adding humour and heart to a topic that can often feel heavy. The playful “chins” helped make the cause more approachable, proving that doing good can also be fun, uplifting, and full of personality.

The idea behind the event is beautifully simple: shave, colour, or cut your hair — and ask others to donate. It’s a bold act that sparks conversations, spreads awareness, and raises vital funds for research, support, and care. We encourage participants to go all in and shave — because those who take the biggest leap often make the biggest impact.

Every dollar raised helps fund emotional and practical support for patients and families, advances groundbreaking blood cancer research, and improves care and treatment options across Australia.
